Born To Die? Why?

This time of year, we are in Advent, the four weeks before the "arrival" or celebration of Jesus' birth.

Have you ever wondered why we celebrate Jesus' birth?

Why do we celebrate Jesus' birth? First, if someone didn't do anything for mankind, would we celebrate their birth? Possibly not.

Jesus' birth and the time (season) of His birth were predicted centuries before His birth. He was to be the savior of the world (which He is). The Hebrews thought that He would come to set them free from other people's tyrannical rule. But God, the Father, had bigger plans.

Jesus was born to die to open the door to God, the Father, for all, not just one race. You see, once Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the tree in disobedience to God's instruction, mankind's connection to God was severed. Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection 3-days later opened the door to full access to God, the Father. Jesus reconciled God's relationship with mankind, and God sent Him to do so! Why? Because of love.

Jesus paid for our sins on the cross, and His resurrection broke the power of Satan over us, which was leading us to death. Even an alive, walking death. But Jesus was born to change all that. He was born to die a pure, innocent death on the cross for those of us who recognize and believe that He did it personally for us. He came to set us free which is why we celebrate Him, who put His life down so we may live.

What Jesus did on the cross for us is holy, pure, and precious. No words can describe what Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection mean to me. You can find Him and have a relationship with Jesus, too! If you realize that you are a sinner and want to be set free, ask Jesus to come into your heart and He will!

Create a blessed Christmas!
