Enter His Rest, Moment-By- Moment-Part 1

a man enjoying his rest
Rest!

Matthew 11: 28 – 30.  “Come unto Me, all you who are heavy laden  [burdened], and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle & humble of heart, and you will find rest for your soul.   For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Did you know that God is calling you to enter His rest, moment-by-moment, and not just one day of the week?  He invites and commands you to take His yoke which is the opposite of the Pharisee’s law and their heavy burden. He calls you to learn from Him through the revelation He shows you personally as well as through His Word. He calls you to walk in dependence and unburden yourself to Him and let Him carry your burdens.

Entering into God's rest? One day a week?

Does Jesus, who stated the above scripture, mean to enter His rest only on the Sabbath or on Sunday?  Absolutely not!  Jesus is inviting all to daily enter His rest which includes ceasing all worry and strife, all the time.  This is consistent with His other message to not worry but to give Him all of your cares (through prayer or talking to Him). It's an attitude of the heart and mind to let Him have all of your care.   He says, in Matthew 25-31, “........Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

How wonderful it is to be trained by the most high, God!  Don’t hold yourself back but go to Him. He’s waiting for You!

Enjoy the journey!
