Fear or Faith: Where do you live?

Fear, scared image which shows distress

Psychology Today, May 2021, states that there is a lot of fear in the mainstream media that deliberately and enticingly plays on people's fears about disaster, disease and death.

The question is, do you listen to mainstream media and live in fear, or do you listen to God and live in faith?

There's so much fearmongering on the news these days and as many government agencies change their minds constantly about the information they are putting out, many don't trust them anymore. I would say, rightly so! Who wants to trust someone or some agency that doesn't know what they are doing, doesn't look at the science, and appears to be attempting to lie to everyone at each turn? The mainstream media tends to do much speculation which they then tout as truth. But is it? Listen and decide for yourself. Are they telling you their opinion, heresy, or facts? And what is their source? Many times, the media are talking heads spouting opinions, creating division and fear. You can easily get caught up in this. So, what happened to "just the facts, ma'am!"

The purpose of this blog is to call the above out and encourage you towards faith. To STOP listening to the mainstream media and dig into God and His Word and believe what He says! Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." It is faith and trust in God, no matter what is going on around you.

He says that He has this world. He always has had this world, no matter which way our world ends (which I think will be good!). God says, "Be still, and know that I am God."

He calls us to faith and to look up to Him for our direction, purpose, and peace. Therefore, turn off the TV, Twitter, and FB, take a walk around the block, ask your friends over to play games, and have fun! Read a self-improvement book! Some good ones are, As a Man Thinketh, by James Allen or Switch on Your Brain by Caroline Leaf. As a Man Thinketh will REALLY open your eyes to what God says in Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."

This little book will identify where you are falling down in taking your thoughts captive and changing your thoughts towards faith and not fear, will change the result in your relationships, purpose, and achievement areas of your life. Switch on Your Brain calls out and scientifically documents how your thoughts change your DNA and the grey and white matter of your brain, documented by MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) tests. Changing your thoughts changes your brain which changes your decisions and life direction & outcome.

2 Corinthians says, "casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ..." Fear is not of God. It is of your flesh, Satan, and his demon liars and God is telling you in this scripture to not allow these thoughts to run around your brain. He is saying to STOP them and change them to thoughts of faith.

You will feel better when you apply what God tells you in scripture. It's not easy but it is possible, and I encourage you to diligently practice changing your fear/negative thoughts into faith/belief thoughts for the next 6 weeks.

Please write to me about how your experience went in doing the above and how you are feeling now. I will be praying that you let go of the fear and allow God's peace to reign in your heart, spirit, and mind!

In His Service,

Nancy
